Councillor's abused dog on the mend, says SPCA.(News)

ONE thousand times better.

Last week, Lady was found emaciated, chained to a disused toilet and removed from the home of the DA councillor for Greyton and Genadendal, along with two puppies.

Now she plays with her puppies in the gardens of the Animal Welfare Society in Philippi, where she will remain until the court case of her owner.

Councillor Caroline Wood previously told the Cape Times the dog - which belonged to her husband, Norman - had become emaciated when it refused the food which had been offered to it.

Wood also claimed she was not often at home to check on the condition of the dog.
